Dominic Raab drops Game of Thrones hint that he hopes to replace Theresa May in Number 10

LEADERSHIP hopeful Dominic Raab has used a Game of Thrones joke to urge MPs not to write him off for the top job in No10.

The ex-Brexit Secretary used a thinly veiled quip today to tell his colleagues he's got support behind him and a decent shot at winning.

He tweeted this morning: "I'm not alone in backing Arya. It's never the favourite."

He’s currently running behind ex-Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who is the bookies' favourite to replace Theresa May in No10.

But Mr Raab told Brits on social media he was backing Game of Thrones character Arya Stark as the most likely to take the Iron Throne in the smash TV series which returned last night.

The battle to replace Mrs May is heating up already even though she’s not officially said when she will step down yet.

The PM has said she will go when she gets her deal passed through the Commons, but no one is sure yet when that will be.

Last week she secured a six month delay to Brexit with the EU in the hope Britain can finally sort out the chaos and decide what to do – as she opened talks with Jeremy Corbyn.

She could be leader for months to come because Tory MPs aren’t allowed to try and oust her again until the end of the year.

But some are trying to change the rules to get her out now.

Later today Sajid Javid will also make a thinly veiled pitch to be leader too with a key speech on knife crime.
