Rapper hires a hitman to kill drill music producer after he teased his pals

A RAPPER hired a hitman to kill a producer.

Abdoulie Ceesay, 28, recruited Tashawn Brewster to attack Bright Akinleye as he directed a music video in London.

Mr Akinleye, 22, had taunted two of Ceesay’s pals. He died after being stabbed with a hunting knife by Brewster, 31.

Bright Akinleye, 22, organised a promotional rap video starring models for one of his artists on 18 February last year.

He had become involved with a group of drill artists from Birmingham called 23 Drillaz and later became the manager for one of the rappers involved in the video shoot.

The University of Birmingham student did not realise he had antagonised close associates of 28-year-old Abdoulie Ceesay.

Ceesay recruited Tashawn Brewster, 31, to murder Mr Akinleye as he directed the music video in a flat in Euston, north London.

Brewster and Ceesay were convicted of murder and jailed for at least 21 years at the Old Bailey. Oliver Petts, 30, got five years for manslaughter.

A fourth man, 27-year-old Silas Loko, was cleared of murder by the jury.

Catherine Gould, from the CPS, said: “This was a targeted hit.”
