Woman, 66, found dead at London home as police arrest man over killing

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a woman's body was found at a London home.

The 66-year-old woman was found collapsed around 9.15pm last night at a house on a quiet residential street in Bexley, South East London.

An ambulance was called to the address at Becketts Close, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man arrested on suspicion of murder is known to the victim.

He remains in custody at a South London police station.

The woman's family have been informed.


Formal identification and a post-mortem are due to be scheduled.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman said“We are at the very early stages of our investigation.

"We have arrested a man and our enquiries continue at a pace.

“Our thoughts are with the deceased’s family at this sad time.

"I urge anyone who has information, but has not yet come forward, to get in touch without delay.”
