Schools across Britain have been forced to shut today as Storm Ciaran batters the country with 98mph gales and torrential downpours.
Pupils will see a return to Covid-style remote learning due as the UK grapples with hurricane-force winds and rain during the storm.
In some areas along the south coast of England, people have been warned not to go outside or take any risks amid amber ‘danger to life’ warnings issued by the Met Office.
Major incidents have been declared in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Jersey and hundreds of schools have been shut across southern England.
