$SHIB Army Member Sheds Light on Meeting With Former Economy Minister of Turkey
A prominent member of the Shiba Inu ($SHIB) community who goes by “SHIB Informer” on the microblogging platform Twitter, has recently shed some light on the meeting members of the Turkish Shiba Inu community had with Mustafa Elitas, a former Economy Minister of Turkey.
As CryptoGlobe reported, a tweet shared by the country’s SHIB community, later applauded by Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, revealed the SHIB community had a face-to-face meeting with Turkey’s Minister of Economy in which the meme-inspired cryptocurrency’s ecosystem was addressed.
In a Twitter thread, SHIB Informer has now clarified there is no formal deal between any government when it comes to the meme-inspired cryptocurrency, and instead that the meeting was a “friendly approach to a government official,” as the community tries to “create awareness about the SHIBA ecosystem.”
The pseudonymous cryptocurrency advocate added that he does not believe Shiba Inu is ready to be the official currency of any nation and instead requires more technology to get there. These technologies include Shibarium, for example.
Shibarium is a layer-two network built on top of the Ethereum blockchain meant to support the Shiba Inu ecosystem. It’s set to enable “rapid low cost transactions optimized for gaming.” Unification is planning on launching a public testnet for the network “very soon” according to its announcement.
Informer added that the community intends to see Shiba Inu become the “most used and useful platform in the world” for crypto, and defended meetings with government officials saying they “let people in positions of power now how decentralization and the influence of these new kinds of communities can be a positive force in the modern world.”
The pseudonymous SHIBarmy member concluded by suggesting more such meetings should occur in the future, and encouraging other community members to reach out to important individuals that “can help make a difference.”
Shiba Inu’s use cases have been growing over time. As reported, leading U.S. movie theater chain AMC has added both SHIB and rival meme-inspired crypto Dogecoin ($DOGE) as a payment method earlier this month.
