Here we’ve gathered eight LGBTQ-owned home brands to give your living space new life. So sit back, scroll on, and show your monetary support this month and beyond.

1. Suay Sew Shop

Want sustainable decorations to add to your home? Check out Suay Sew Shop, a sewing and production business dedicated to upcycling materials to decrease the growing textile waste around the world. Founder Lindsay Rose Medoff established the brand with the ethos of “true progressive circularity,” creating home goods, apparel and even face masks through the upcycling of post-consumer waste, deadstock and domestically organically grown fibers.

In 2019, Suay diverted over 250,000 lbs of garments from landfills, and the brand continues its efforts to upcycle garment waste into tasteful home décor. You’ll find linen body pillows, napkin sets, duvet covers and other high-quality home goods at the online shop.

2. Otherwild

Familiar with the iconic “The Future is Female” tee that’s been popular the past few years? Otherwild, founded by Rachel Berks in 2012, is behind the resurgence of the powerful slogan shirt, amongst other apparel, housewares, apothecary items and more. Eclectic items like these cow-print dishes and this stylish blob utility rug are among some of the fun pieces Otherwild has to offer.

The queer-identified, woman-owned retailer also focuses on giving back to organizations such as Planned Parenthood, The Lesbian Herstory Archives and The National Center for Transgender Equality, and it also supports grassroots activists and social justice organizations via direct grants to makers through its Anotherwild Fund.

3. Boy Smells

Let us introduce you to your new favorite candle brand: Boy Smells. The online candle and intimates shop quickly gained a cult following through its creation of minimal, metallic votives. The company’s best known scents include Kush—inspired by, an, ahem, specific herbal aroma—and Slow Burn, created in partnership with singer Kacey Musgraves.

Co-founders and partners Matthew Herman and David Kien aimed to create fragrances that pushed beyond the gender binary (despite the name), with products “embracing masculine and feminine simultaneously.” Founder-invented scents like Cinderose and Gardener do just that, combining traditionally masculine scents like smoke and tomato vine with lighter floral scents like rose and honeysuckle.

Featured on our list of Black-owned home brands to shop, Made by Rheal’s shop of handmade goods is a go-to for decorative but still functional accents.

The Oakland, California-based Etsy shop features pieces like marbled glass coasters, simple planters and these stunning hand holders for your jewelry and other trinkets. You’ll also find woven art throw blankets as the latest addition to Made By Rheal’s collection, bringing abstract designs and color swatches to a cozy 100% cotton blanket that can also be used as a wall tapestry.

5. Bobby Berk Home

If you’ve binged all five seasons of Queer Eye, then you already know and love celebrity interior designer Bobby Berk. For those of you who have not, Berk is known for his design eye and expertise on the show, but is also the founder of his own line of home goods. 

Berk’s line currently features on-trend wallpaper, modern furniture staples and must-have accents full of character like this 2-door accent cabinet. You can shop the collection on Berk’s website as well as Wayfair.

6. Junebug and Darlin

For a crafty touch to the home, Junebug and Darlin is your destination for witty cross stitch goods. The Portland-based Etsy shop is run by Zoe Frost, a queer femme who creates heirloom quality subversive crafts through her cross stitch patterns and kits.

You can purchase cross stitch kits that include everything you’ll need to create the stitching yourself, such as an embroidery hoop, a printed pattern, embroidery floss, needles and more. Frost’s “Smash the Patriarchy” stitch kit and “Pronouns” stitch kit are just two of the many craft kits that’ll make for delightful statement-makers for the home.
