Dallas Maverick owner, Mark Cuban just 3 days after announcing acceptance of Dogecoin as payment for merchandise and tickets, thinks Maverick Fans can raise the DOGE Price to $1.
The billionaire took to Twitter on Saturday to announce the Mavericks has done more than 20000 Dogecoin transactions. making them the franchise, largest Dogecoin merchant in the world.
Cuban in his tweet says if they sell 6,556,000,000 Dogecoin worth of Merchandise and tickets the token ‘will definitely’ hit $1.
Mavericks already accept payments in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Gemini dollar, Binance Coin.
They were one of the early franchises to get on the bandwagon of cryptocurrency payment acceptance.
Why Dogecoin?
Despite backlash and criticism, that he is making a mistake with Dogecoin’s acceptance, Cuban anyways went ahead and did it.
In the Dogecoin announcement, Cuban reasoned as to why this decision, the crux of which is “because we can”.
“The Mavericks have decided to accept Dogecoin for Mavs tickets and merchandise for one very important, earth-shattering reason because we can, Because we can, we have chosen to do so. Cuban said.
He previously had said DOGE is an ‘economics teaching tool’ and ‘best entertainment bang for your buck available’.
This fun Shiba Inu dog-themed token that started as a joke, has blown up now. With billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Cuban promoting Doge, it has become a mainstream altcoin from being just a micro tipping token on Reddit.
At the time of writing Dogecoin Price is trading at 0.055918 with a market capitalization of $7.19Billion.
