Shiba Inu ($SHIB) Now Accepted by Binance-Backed Travel Booking Platform

A leading blockchain-based Travel booking platform, which is backed by Binance, has added support for highly popular meme-based cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB).

Travala.com ($AVA), which currently “offers 2,200,000+ properties covering 90,124 destinations in 230 countries and territories”, was founded in 2017. On 20 May 2020, Travala.com announced “its strategic merger” with the leading crypto-friendly flight booking portal TravelbyBit (which was being backed by Binance). Following a full integration between the two startups, Travala.com’s native token $AVA would “power the merged platform with the added utility of flight bookings”.

Binance Co-Founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao (aka “CZ”) said back then:

Travala.com and TravelbyBit have proven their ability to build world-class travel booking platforms that the crypto community love. We are looking forward to supporting them in their journey and bringing more widespread crypto utility through travel.

$AVA is “a multi-chain token based on the Binance Chain (BEP-2), Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20) and Ethereum blockchain (ERC-20)”. It “enables travellers from around the globe to book various travel products and provides several incentives that encourage the use of the Travala.com platform, including discounts and loyalty rewards”.

Well, yesterday (December 7), Travala.com announced that it is now accepting $SHIB as a payment method for users of the platform.

The company had previously added support for Dogecoin ($DOGE) in May.

Travala.com’s Smart Program “offers a range of benefits including discounts of up to 5% off the listed Travala.com prices, up to 5% in loyalty rewards, access to the NFT program, and platform voting rights.”
