The fate of Line Of Duty’s ‘bent copper’ Joanne Davidson will be revealed tonight – but the actress who plays her will not be watching.
Kelly Macdonald has revealed she has seen only one episode of the current series after finding the tense hunt to discover the identity of ‘H’ too intimidating.
Asked on BBC Radio 6 Music if she would be tuning in, the actress replied: ‘Hell, no! I watched the first episode and I’m sort of… no!’
The 45-year-old star added: ‘It’s not like I don’t ever watch anything that I have done.
‘It was just a bit too much for me. I thought I could watch it. I tried to watch it. It turns out I cannot watch it.’
The actress, whose character Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson has been forced to work for a criminal gang, said she had found shooting the dialogue-heavy scenes tough and that her co-star Vicky McClure – who plays Detective Inspector Kate Fleming – has nicknamed the show ‘Lines Of Duty’.

Ms Macdonald said the show’s popularity – more than 11 million fans are expected to tune in tonight – added to her discomfort: ‘I just know how many people are watching it. It’s so much pressure.’
And she admitted that she had never seen the show before being cast.
‘I’m one of the newcomers actually, because I hadn’t watched Line Of Duty until I was offered the part and so I was doing a bit of bingeing,’ she said.
‘I wasn’t going to turn up if I carried on. It was just too intimidating.’
