Cancer patient threw himself on Hamas grenade to save others and LIVED
Heroic cancer patient threw himself on Hamas grenades during festival slaughter in bid to save others – and SURVIVED to tell the tale
- Raz Peri jumped in front of fellow festivalgoers to take the brunt of the explosion
A cancer patient heroically threw himself onto a grenade at a music festival where Hamas terrorists massacred hundreds of innocent civilians.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Raz Peri has revealed how he bore the brunt of the explosion, survived being shot and fended off a Hamas terrorist in close quarter combat,
The 20-year-old had driven to the Supernova rave in the southern desert of Israel to ‘feel alive again’ but found himself desperately running from fanatical gunmen just hours later.
Mr Peri, who lymphoma, tried to hide from Hamas’s attack in a roadside shelter with a group of four other terrified bohemians.
But they were soon targeted by terrorist group’s militants, sparking him to selflessly throw himself into danger to save people he had never met until minutes before.

Hundreds of people were killed at the festival in the southern desert during Hamas’s surprise attack on October 7
The cancer patient revealed while they were hiding, he heard some men speaking in Arabic, causing a female companion in the shelter to scream.
He told CNN he ‘had nothing, just my hands’ and was forced into a fist fight with one terrorist who walked through the door to investigate.

This sparked a ferocious life and death grappling match between the pair, with the militant firing his weapon beyond Mr Peri, hitting one of the hiding festivalgoers in the leg.
During the tussle the pair ended up outside the shelter, at which point the terrorist’s compatriots started shooting at them, killing the militant while Mr Peri scrambled back inside.
He added that a group of Hamas thugs then peered into the shelter with ‘crazy eyes’ and suggested they were on drugs.
It was then, he claims, that they threw grenades into the shelter, sparking him to throw his body over them in a last ditch bid to limit the blast while at the same time trying to keep his muscles relaxed.
The explosion tore through his legs and arms, leaving him barely conscious, while a one of the men in the shelter had his leg blown off, the Times reports.
The group desperately put a tourniquet around the stump and one of the men decided to leave, a move that brought Hamas back to the shelter.
Firing their assault weapons at the group, they killed the man and his wife, with Mr Peri revealing he pulled her body over him and played dead.
This did not stop him being subject to even more barbaric treatment, as the terrorists fire more bullets into the shelter, with one going through her body and into his stomach.

Personal items and blood stains were found left in a roadside shelter close to the festival
After the Hamas thugs left, the severely wounded festivalgoer decided to go for help while the two surviving members of the group waited in the shelter. They would be dead by the time help arrived.

He told CNN: ‘When I go to the town, everyone is dead. I saw girls with their pants down, I saw a knife in the body.’
As he escaped he said he came across a car graveyard, with vehicles filled with festivalgoers who were gunned down by the terrorists as they tried to flee.
‘I have cancer. I go to the festival to listen to the music for my soul. What I have seen with my eyes I can never take this [away],’ he said.
He finally found safety when he forced his way into a house and found a family who he huddled with for safety, gripping a knife in his hand while desperately trying to staunch the bleeding from his stomach.
He was later taken to safety and has remained in hospital for the last 13 days recovering from his wounds.
The attack by Hamas, which shocked the world, killed 1,400 Israelis, most of whom were civilians, while more than 200 people were taken hostage.
Since then Israel has pummelled Gaza with air strikes, while thousands of Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) troops have massed at the border in preparation for a ground invasion of the territory.
