Handfuls of God: Diego Maradona’s luxury vehicles and home he bought for his parents are among items on auction block to pay off late Argentine soccer legend’s debts
- An auction has been set for December 19 in which bidders will be able to purchase two homes and three vehicles once owned by Diego Maradona

Luxury items that include homes and cars, along with other less pricey memorabilia, once owned by soccer legend Diego Maradona will be put up for auction in Argentina next month.
The decision to sell a portion of the Argentine great’s estate was made by his surviving children – Diego, Giannina, Dalma, Jana and Diego Fernando – after their famous father died from a heart attack last year.
Maradona, who earned about $43 million between 1984 and 1991 while leading Napoli to the Serie A crown and helping Argentina capture the World Cup – with his infamous Hand of God goal against England in the 1986 quarterfinals- had barely $100,000 when he died, according to Express.co.uk.
The auction’s top attraction will be a house located in the Buenos Aires upscale neighborhood of Villa Devoto that Maradona gifted his parents in the 1980s after joining the famed Argentine soccer club Boca Juniors.
