THESE are the first pics of the drunk Royal Navy sailors – two of whom were tasered by US cops on Britain’s new £3billion aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth’s maiden voyage.

Police arrested six Royal Navy personnel for alcohol-related offences in Florida after the 65,000-ton ship, nicknamed Big Lizzie, made its maiden voyage across the Atlantic.

After two and a half weeks at sea, the crew of 1,500 sailors, aircrew and marines descended on a coastal resort at Jacksonville Beach on Wednesday night.

Locals saw Brit sailors being kicked out of bars, fighting with each other and urinating in the street after the warship arrived at Naval Station Mayport.

Police were called and detained four Royal Navy personnel for drunk and disorderly behaviour, one for trespassing in a bar, and one for affray.

Two sailors were tasered after resisting arrest and the group were held overnight before returning to their 918ft-long warship on Thursday morning.

This marked the 65,000 tonne aircraft carrier's first trip to America, where it will be trialling its new F35 fighter jets made at a base in Maryland, US.

Sergeant Larry Smith from Jacksonville Beach Police Department confirmed six sailors were taken into custody for alcohol-related offences after HMS Queen Elizabeth docked at naval station Mayport on Wednesday.

He said three of the six sailors resisted arrest and two had to be tasered.

Sgt Smith said: "The day they got into the port was Wednesday, and I think they must have been on shore leave, because all of these arrests were made on Wednesday night.

"It was business as normal here, and then a bunch of sailors came out to our bars.

"All of the arrests were alcohol related, one was for trespassing in a bar – the sailor was asked to leave for whatever reason and he didn't leave, so was arrested for trespassing.

"One was arrested for affray, and the rest were arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

"Three of the six sailors were charged with resisting arrest without violence.

"One guy I believe pushed away an officer and wouldn't put his hands behind his back, so they had to use a taser on him to get him to put his hands behind his back.

"One was in a fight, they told him to stop and he didn't so they fired a taser at him.

"The sailors were all released on Thursday morning, and I think they learned their lesson." 

Sgt Smith added: "Our officers went down to the ship to speak to their commanders, and while they were still out on the town on Thursday night, there were no more problems from the sailors.

"It was a case of good people making bad decisions, they got drunk and they fought among themselves.

"It happens. They seem to beat the mess out of each other and knock their teeth out, but once they pick up their teeth off the ground they hug and then are best friends again."

The HMS Queen Elizabeth was due to leave the port this morning.

A Royal Navy spokesman said: “We can confirm that a number of naval personnel are assisting US police with their enquiries – it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

A spokesman also confirmed six naval personnel from HMS Queen Elizabeth were arrested in Florida.
