Girl, 11, and boy, 15, rushed to hospital after being shot in a park in broad daylight as two cars including a ‘stolen Mini’ are reported ‘in a chase’ nearby
A girl, 11, and a boy, 15, have been rushed to hospital after being shot in a broad daylight attack in Wolverhampton.
Emergency services rushed to reports of gunshots at a residential area in Bushbury at around 3pm yesterday.
Shortly after shots were fired, two cars, a suspected stolen black Mini and a grey Ford Focus, were reported in a chase in the same area.
The boy was found with a bullet wound to his leg and the girl was found in a nearby parkland off Shelley Road with similar wounds.
Both were taken to hospital in a stable condition where they remain today, West Midlands Police said.

The girl is reportedly having surgery on her leg.
The stolen Mini was found abandoned in Third Avenue and it has been seized by police to be forensically analysed.
The scene remains cordoned off today as forensic examinations continue. Officers are liaising with partners in local schools.
The force said: ‘We’d ask anyone who was in the Bushbury area yesterday afternoon to check their dashcam and doorbell footage as they may be able to assist with our on-going enquiries.
