Just Stop Oil are trying to recruit children as young as 11 for stunts at school assemblies.

The eco-zealots will unleash their newest action on schools but face accusations of ‘exploitation’.

A message in a JSO group chat seen by the Sun asked whether the recipients knew any secondary school students who ‘are serious about climate action and want to help organise a long-term school strike’.

The sender was also looking for parents, teachers and scientists to join their cause.

A JSO member said targeting schools was ‘next-level stuff’ and would be ‘incredible’.

But not everyone is as excited about the prospect of school protests.

One parent who has seen the messages said: ‘Just Stop Oil are now exploiting children. It’s a disgrace.’

Tory MP Nigel Mills told the Sun that schools should take ‘firm action’ to prevent potential disruptions by protests.

The newest tactic comes after the group caused chaos at various sports events and brought traffic to a halt on several occasions in London.

Just on Friday, the eco-zealots marched through the streets of Leeds and blocked motorists trying to access parts of the M621.

MailOnline has approached Just Stop Oil for comment.
