In the stomach-churning clip, uploaded on Monday, Tony can be seen using a spade to sift through the mud in his backyard.
‘I was doing some gardening in my backyard today and I discovered some sort of crazy concrete secret box in the ground,’ he said.
‘I found a handle after digging for a while, then after digging for a bit more I uncovered a second handle. I kept going until I got it cleaned to the point where I could start to attempt to lift it up.
‘When I tried it was a little heavy, so then I brought in the big guns. And you’ll never believe what I found.’
He flips the camera and films himself running away as he retches from the smell before pulling his top up to cover his mouth after opening the septic tank
Tony then reveals it was in fact a septic tank.

The video has been viewed more than 7 million times on the social media platform.
In a follow-up video, Tony admitted that he did know it was a waste tank when he started digging but that he had only gone in search of the box after a plumber recently informed him of its existence.
Tony said: ‘We didn’t know we were on the septic system. I have lived here for six years, the landlord before me had lived here for two years, and the people before us had a garden bed right over the top of where the septic tank is.
‘So who knows how long it’s been since it’s been cleaned – like eight plus years?
‘And the contents in there, it was like the consistency of Jell-O. But not Jell-O you want to eat.’
