EXCLUSIVE: Moment masked burglars use power tools to cut through tech shop’s steel shutters and make off with games consoles, phones and MacBooks

  •  CCTV shows the two masked thugs arrive to the shop in north London last Friday
  • ‘Heartbroken’ owner Abdul Idrissi says the burglary has put him out of business

This is the shocking moment two masked burglars raided a London tech shop, swiping consoles, MacBooks and phones, after using heavy-duty power tools to cut through the steel shutters.

CCTV shows the two masked thugs arriving on a moped outside the shop called Exchange, on Finchley High Road, north London, to carry out a ‘planned’ burglary.

The footage shows the burglars use a circular saw to cut through the shutter, before smashing the glass door at around 3am last Friday.

The thieves then made their getaway with their loot, which included high-value electrical goods such as mobile phones and MacBook laptops within four minutes, according to the shop owner.

Veteran proprietor Abdul Idrissi, 40, believes the attack was targeted and pre-planned after taking place on the eighth anniversary of his last-break-in.

Abdul – who has run the Exchange since 1999 – added that he now feels unsafe in the capital.

To his frustration, the CCTV footage was also unable to pick up the registration of the getaway moped, which Abdul suspects is down to tampering with the plate to evade the police.

He said: ‘I am really distraught, I am born and raised in London but I don’t feel safe.

‘I feel like the way things are, especially with what happened, the city feels unsafe.

‘At the moment we are still going through the stock to see what has gone but we they literally stole everything within four minutes.

‘They stole gaming consoles, MacBooks, phones and gaming computers.’

The shopkeeper said they are still assessing the aftermath – but so far the robbery has put him out of business.

Abdul said: ‘The bike the men were on was reflecting on the camera.

‘They must have had something on the plate that doesn’t allow cameras to read the plate.

‘I was broken when I got there, really shocked and very heartbroken.

‘I got the call when I was sleeping. I looked at the cameras and saw the shop being broken into.’
