A DAD has told how his son was kicked out of class for wearing shorts to school during the scorching heatwave.
Harrison Utting, 13, went to Westlands School in Sittingbourne, Kent in shorts on Monday when temperatures soared above 30C.
But the Year 8 was pulled out of class and sent to a separate room in punishment.
It comes after the Met Office has also warned substantial changes in working practices and daily routines are likely to be needed amid the heat.
Sweltering temperatures have seen sweaty Brits take to beaches and parks to lap up the summer weather – while kids have been stuck at school.
Harrison’s dad Terry believes the way his son is being treated has been completely “unfair”.
He told KentOnline: "I don't think it's right the way the school is treating its students.

"There is a blanket ban on shorts but there is no air-conditioning in the classrooms and the pupils are roasting in 30C heat.
"At least the girls can wear skirts. I read that in another school all the boys ended up wearing skirts as that was the only way they could keep cool and follow the dress code."
Terry ended up taking Harrison out of the school on Monday and Tuesday when he was punished for wearing the shorts.
He explained: "Harrison was put in the PSP (Pastoral Support Programme) room which is like a prison so I took him out of school."
Headteacher Christina Honess said: "We have a clear policy on uniform that all parents are made aware of before they send their child to our school and it is published on our school website.
"We review all of our policies on a regular basis and will do so with our uniform policy in due course.

"The overwhelming majority of our parents are supportive of our current policy."
But she added: "In the event of the extreme temperatures that are currently being forecast for next week, we would be willing to make reasonable adjustments."
