Oakland Hills Country Club fire: Michigan golf course building sets on fire one year after $12million renovation
SHOCKING footage has shown a golf country club that just had a $12million renovation set on fire.
The blaze broke out at 10am local time on Thursday morning, as flames were seen bursting from the clubhouse roof.
Video from the scene showed clouds of black smoke pluming from the country club.
The blaze appeared to start in the middle of the building but quickly engulfed the separate wings.
The fire broke out despite wet weather sweeping through Southeast Michigan.
Firefighters were seen tackling the blaze, with dispatch asking for additional crews.
It is unclear what caused the fire and police have not disclosed any details on the matter.

It has not yet been revealed if anyone was in the club at the time the fire broke out.
The country club reopened in 2021 after closing for two years for a new $12million renovation.
The club includes two 18-hole courses, which were designed by architect Donald Ross.
