Plumes of smoke and flames are seen inside the garage and the puppies start squealing while the officers desperately try and find them.

Officers hold torches into the room and one is able to find a puppy near the door and rescue it.

Another six puppies are then found and put into a large dog food bowl so the officer can carry them out easily while the fire rages on right next to him.

Once safely outside, the officers then count the puppies to make sure they haven’t left one behind as they bring the mother out to be reunited with them.

While the Glendale fire department desperately tried to contain the blaze that had ripped through the attic and burned through the roof.

A FIDO bag, which contains equipment to treat dogs suffering from smoke inhalation, was then used to give oxygen to one of the puppies who was struggling the most.

The puppies and their mother were then taken to Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center so they could be treated for smoke inhalation.

Just one of the puppies died from the smoke inhalation but the other six and their mother survived.

Two other adult dogs were also rescued from the backyard of the home, which was so damaged by the fire that Sergio and Ana will have to find somewhere new to live.

Glendale fire says the fire was believed to have been started from a swamp cooler that malfunctioned and they are investigating.

Dr. Enrico Carluen is treating the puppies at Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center.

‘Just seeing that footage for the first time, I would never have expected any of those animals to make it,’ Carluen told Fox News.

‘I do expect them to continue to do well and make it out of the hospital.’

A spokesman for the city of Glendale, Jose Santiago, said: ‘Once the garage door was open, the mother of the pups ran out as our officers ran inside to the sounds of squealing puppies.

‘The officers managed to locate seven puppies and used a nearby dog bowl to safely remove the puppies from the burning home. Once the puppies were out, officers managed to wrangle up the mother dog and reunite her with her pups at a neighbor’s home.’
