Ryanair's chief pilot fired over 'pattern on inappropriate behaviour'
Ryanair’s chief pilot is fired after ‘asking junior female pilots to send him photos of their bodies and telling one she had a “great a*s” as part of a pattern on inappropriate behaviour’

Ryanair have sacked their chief pilot after trainees made numerous sexual harassment complainants against him.
Staff at Ryanair – whose slogan is ‘Europe’s favourite airline’ – were informed that Aidan Murray, 58, had been sacked in an email.
The airline took action after he allegedly asked women to send him pictures of their body with replies from him including ‘You have a great body’ and another said ‘amazing a*s’.
The note – from the firm’s head of HR Darrell Hughes – said: ‘We regret to advise you that last evening we terminated with immediate effect the employment of the Ryanair DAC Chief pilot (who was appointed in 2020).
‘The decision follows an investigation over recent days which identified a pattern of repeated and inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour towards a a number of female junior pilots, which was in breach of our anti harassment policy.

‘We are determined to ensure that all our people come to work in a safe and secure environment. We would ask all of you to respect the privacy and integrity of those brave individuals who came forward to assist us in this investigation.’
The investigation is said to involve a number of female trainee pilots who were allegedly ‘sexually harassed and coerced’ by Murray.
Other women are also said to have given statements to the airline about his behaviour with all those involved said to be aged between 21 and 32.
He is said to have changed their rosters so he could work alongside them in the cockpit and the alleged inappropriate behaviour is said to have taken place over the last 12 to 18 months.

Ryanair has provided counselling to those who came forward to make the allegations and one of those involved has left, while another has asked to be moved elsewhere and two other shave changed their shift patterns.
One source told MailOnline: ‘The four were in a difficult position and he exploited it. They were young and had invested a lot of money in their training.’
Murray – whose Linkedin profile has been deactivated – could not be contacted and in a statement Ryanair said: ‘We do not comment on queries relating to individual employees.’
He has been a pilot for 30 years and has worked at Ryanair in various roles for more than 26 years.
