THIS is the dramatic moment a gunfight erupted in a cafe as a robbery went wrong.
Crooks attempting to steal a Rolex from a businessman at a Starbucks in Tulum, Mexico, were forced to flee as his friend pulled out his own gun and started firing back.
Footage shows wealthy tycoon David Gonzalez Cuellar sitting in the cafe talking on his phone, sitting opposite Luis Carlos.
A man wearing a crash helmet then walks in and pretends to join the queue to get a coffee.
Seconds later, a second bloke comes in and suddenly pulls out a gun.
He then demands Cuellar and Carlos hand over their valuables – including the businessman's flash Rolex watch.

But Carlos whips out his own gun and a brief exchange of fire erupts.
Terrified customers can be seen throwing themselves to the floor.
Cuellar, meanwhile, can be seen toppling from his chair after being shot in the head in the crossfire the two robbers flee.
Police confirmed one of the would-be thieves was treated for shot wounds while Cuellar died from his injuries.

The stricken crook was arrested along with two others following the botched robbery on Monday.
It is understood the third man arrested was Carlos.
