Special forces storm German restaurant after blood-soaked man sparks three hour stand off – The Sun

SPECIAL forces have ended a three hour stand off with a blood-soaked man in a German restaurant.

A police official said the man, believed to be the son-in-law of the restaurant's owner, seemed to be in an "exceptional psychological situation".

BILD has reported that negotiators found the man, 43, half-asleep in the basement of the restaurant unarmed, with superficial injuries.

It is understood he has now been taken to hospital.

Initial reports suggested the man was armed with a gun and had run into the restaurant and shouted at everyone to leave.
