A yob who broke into the I’m A Celebrity castle in Wales and bragged that ITV needed to ‘beef up their security’ has admitted beating up his girlfriend’s neighbour in a parking row.
Darryl ‘Taffy’ Tipton launched his unprovoked attack against Robert Edwards, punching him in the face after being asked not to block a driveway with his car.
Mr Edwards suffered a cut elbow during the scuffle with the bearded 34-year-old in October last year, a court heard.
Unemployed Tipton, of Colwyn Bay, North Wales, admitted assault and was sentenced to a 12-month community order by magistrates in Llandudno on Monday. He must also pay a £120 and £100 in compensation.
In 2021 prankster Tipton broke into the I’m a Celebrity set at the Gwrych Castle near Abergele while the show’s stars were evacuated during Storm Arwen.

Security staff and production workers had ‘to run for their lives’ and were ‘blown off their feet’ as 70mph winds battered the 19th century fort.

The dangerous weather prompted ITV bosses to can two live weekend shows of I’m a Celeb, which were replaced with compilation clips looking back at previous series.
Tipton was one of two people to break into the evacuated set, bragging that it had been as easy as popping into Tesco.
He spent 90 minutes wandering around the camp, filming where the stars slept.
Speaking to The Sun at the time, Tipton boasted: ‘ITV need to beef up their security.
‘We were able to wander around for about 90 minutes before we were apprehended.
‘There were a few guards around but we waited until they had gone. Once we got in we were able to find our way around quite easily.’
The duo of intruders reportedly managed to sneak past the show’s six-tier security system, which reportedly included bulletproof detection Armadillo robots, and took photos of the entire camp.

On Monday, prosecutor James Neary told magistrates Tipton’s victim and his wife had lived at their home for 22 years and never had any problems until Tipton started visiting a neighbour.
On the day of the attack Tipton had parked his car partly across their driveway and was asked not to do so.
But Mr Neary said the defendant punched Mr Edwards in the face and the victim cut his elbow when he fell. According to Mr Edwards the assault was ‘totally unprovoked’. Tipton had been convicted of a similar offence in 2019.
Defence solicitor Simon Sargent claimed there had been an argument and Tipton ‘momentarily’ lost his composure and hit Mr Edwards.
‘He does regret his actions. He does accept his behaviour was unacceptable,’ the lawyer added.
Tipton had been in custody before appearing in court. As well as his community order and fines, Tipton was also ordered to complete 15 days rehabilitation.
