GHOST of Tsushima launched July 17, but many who pre-ordered the action-adventure video game on Amazon will not receive it anytime soon.

What is the Ghost of Tsushima?

The Ghost of Tsushima is a video game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4.

 "In this open-world action adventure, you'll roam vast countrysides and expansive terrain to encounter rich characters, discover ancient landmarks, and uncover the hidden beauty of Tsushima," reads the description on Amazon.

"Challenge opponents with your katana for an immersive samurai combat experience, master the bow to eliminate distant threats, and develop stealth tactics to disorient and ambush enemies with surprise attacks."

The Verge describes GoT as a game "with many facets."

"A gorgeous open-world adventure, a Kurosawa-inspired samurai tale, and so many side quests where you hear people talk to you while you walk toward an objective," reads the profile published Friday.

Ghost of Tsushima is just one of many exciting games released this year.

Who is Jin Sakai?

Jin Sakai is the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima and is voiced by actor Daisuke Tsuji.

He is "resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home," according to the game's official website.

The Verge raves about the protagonist's katana – "the best video game sword in recent memory."

"From the moment you start Ghost of Tsushima, the game impresses on you that Jin is an elite warrior, one who has been studying for years to hone his skill at wielding his family blade (officially called 'the Sakai Storm'),"  Chaim Gartenberg writes in The Verge.

The scheduled release date for Ghost of Tsushima is July 17, 2020.

Why was the release of the game delayed?

Many people who pre-ordered the game are complaining that they will not receive it for weeks or even months from now.

"So I put in my pre-order for Ghost of Tsushima on Amazon. Its a game that comes out on the 17th of July and I'm told that it will be delivered between August 4th and the 26th," one Twitter user wrote.

"Like a week delay would bother me, but this is almost a month."

Wrote another user this week: "@amazon. I ordered Ghost of Tsushima Special Edition in April and still dont have a delivery date??

"That only means i am not getting it on release date and also means after Last of Us 2 4 day delay preorder, my future game purchases stop with you.

Amazon did not give a reason why shipments were delayed, according to Digital Trends.
