Mr Hamilton was hurt by Peter Tobin's action that caused him the loss of his daughter.
When he heard that Peter was in the hospital in January 2022, he hoped that he was "suffering like hell," just like he has been suffering the loss of his daughter for all this time.
Dinah McNicol was his second murder that year and was last seen alive on August 5, 1991, walking home with a male friend from a music festival in Liphook, Hampshire.
While walking, they accepted a lift from a male and while her friend was dropped off at Junction 8, she was never seen again.
McNicol was a sixth former from Tillingham, Essex and her brother spoke to EssexLive in 2017, explaining the hurt the family went through.
Her brother Dan said: "That was the worst when she went missing, the now knowing what happened.
"As a family, we knew that she wasn't alive.
"We knew she wouldn't just disappear or run off.
"That was not what she was like.
"We knew that something bad had happened but you always have that hope that she had hit her head and had amnesia or something.
"Realistically though, we knew she was dead.
"We just wanted to find her body and the person who did it."
The last victim that the police were aware of was Angelika Kluk.
The 23-year-old Polish student was staying at the presbytery of St Patrick's Church in Glasgow, where Tobin was a handyman.
