San Jose police respond to reports of a shooting at light rail yard

Police in San Jose are responding to reports of a shooting at a light rail yard.
“Units are currently at the scene of a shooting in the area of Younger Av and San Pedro St.” San Jose Police Media Relations tweeted. “This is still an active scene and we ask that everyone stay out of the area while we conduct our investigation.”
The site is at or near the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail yard – and near the the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said deputies are “currently on scene for an active shooter investigation in the area of 100 W. Younger Ave. SJ. Please stay away from the area.”
The VTA runs three light rail lines covering more than 40 miles. The agency also operates 70 bus lines in the region.
