‘Satoshi Block Dojo is an ongoing hackathon’: CoinGeek Weekly Livestream talks to Richard Boase

CoinGeek Chief Bitcoin Historian and host Kurt Wuckert Jr. opens the show with a shoutout to Gorilla DAO, the first decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) created on the BSV enterprise blockchain. Kurt, one of the main drivers of the platform, happily announced on this episode of CoinGeek Weekly Livestream, that the DAO will soon launch the Gorilla Pool, a new service that he says will have “a payout structure based on how much capital you have in the Gorilla DAO.”

Kurt then shifts focus to this week’s guest, Richard Boase, co-founder of Satoshi Block Dojo, a startup incubator that aims to create viable businesses using the BSV blockchain. Boase tells Kurt, “We are taking entrepreneurs and developers, putting them together and helping them build a business.” The company will provide entrepreneurship training, in addition to helping startups with product development. At the moment, Block Dojo has already received roughly 35 applications.

“If you have an idea and you want to build, pitch us your idea” Boase said. “If we love it, we want you to come into the Dojo.”

Each year, the company will grant three startups with GBP10,000. The chosen companies will also receive a 12-week program focused on business mentorship, as well as technical training. In return, Boase said, “We ask 10 percent of the business.”

Facilitating most of the technical support and services is Robin Kohze, Block Dojo’s Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and also the CEO of Vaionex, a company that specializes in solutions at the nexus of data science and blockchain technology.

Boase is keen to point out that a solid business plan is a key component in their search for potential contenders. For his part, it would be great “if you say I’ve got an idea for a product and here’s the overview… and this is the profit model.” But he also notes that it would be “even better, if it’s integrated with BSV.”

“The Satoshi Block Dojo is an ongoing hackathon,” Boase points out. “Anyone can apply at any time.”
