A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl in the sea in front of thousands of people at Bournemouth beach has been released without charge.
The suspect was detained by police following an e-fit appeal on BBC One’s Crimewatch Live.
The victim was in the sea playing with friends when a ball landed in front of a teenage boy.
He threw it back but began talking to the schoolgirl before allegedly pulling her out into deeper water close to Bournemouth Pier, Dorset.
Despite the crowds of people in the water and on the pier, the young man then allegedly raped the girl under the cover of the water on July 18.
