Dramatic moment armed cop faces off with 'gunman' in terrifying stand-off in Leeds

THIS is the dramatic moment an armed cop faces off with a ‘gunman’ in a terrifying stand-off in a Leeds suburb.

Officers raced to the scene just after 11am yesterday following a report of a man with what appeared to be a handgun.

West Yorkshire Police today confirmed that a 48-year-old man had been detained by a firearms officer using a taser in the Kirkstall area of the city.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and remains in custody.

Cops said a gas-powered BB gun was recovered at the scene.

A photograph shows the man pointing what appears to be a handgun at an officer standing in front of a bus during the tense stand-off on a residential road.
