TRIBUTES have been paid to the "happiest" eight-year-old boy after he was killed in a crash with a van.

Layton Harrison was struck by a black Ford Transit in Penwortham, Lancashire, last Tuesday.

He was rushed to hospital but tragically he couldn't be saved and died shortly after.

Layton's mum Stacey Bailey has now paid tribute to the youngster in a moving statement.

She said: "Layton was a much loved little boy by all who knew him. He was my world and my best friend.

“A part of me went with Layton the day he died. He lit up every room he walked into.
