Woman, 62, keyed EIGHT cars in row over parking on pavements – causing THOUSANDS of pounds in damage | The Sun

A 62-YEAR-old woman keyed eight cars in a row over parking on pavements – causing thousands of pounds in damage.

Sue Williams scratched motors including a Mercedes and a Range Rover owned by strangers during walks around Sevenoaks in Kent.

She targeted parked cars which had two wheels or more on the pavement.

Her damage spree started on March 18 last year, when Williams keyed a white Seat Terraco – causing £2,777 in damage.

Williams then keyed a black Ford Fiesta and Peugeot Partner van, both parked with wheels on the pavement.

Eight days later Williams keyed a grey Mercedes, causing £1,454 in damage.

Williams admitted eight counts of criminal damage at Medway Magistrates' Court on October 25.

Her lawyer Stewart Lewis said that Williams had no previous convictions – and that she may have been menopausal when she keyed the cars.

"A substantial amount of damage was done.

"They were all parked on the pavement and it restricts people walking on the pavement.

"They have to go in the road to go around the vehicle."

He added that Williams' husband would cash in his pension to pay for the damage.

Magistrates placed Williams under a curfew between 8pm and 6am for three months.

She was also ordered to pay back £4,500 to the owners of the keyed cars within six months – with the rest of the damage covered by insurance.
