Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream Recalled

Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association or MDVA is recalling one lot of Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream Pints citing undeclared soy and wheat, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

MDVA produced 8,040 pints of the Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream on September 15 and began distributing product on September 24. The pints were sold in North and South Carolina Harris Teeter stores.

The recalled pints of Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream are stamped with the SELL BY date of September 15, 2022, and UPC 0 74336 65079 6.

The recall was initiated after MVDA was notified by consumers that containers of the Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream contained Cookie Dough Ice Cream. The Cookie Dough Ice Cream contains soy and wheat which are not listed on the Butter Almond label.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat may get serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the Howling Cow Butter Almond Pints.

However, the company has not received any reports of illnesses related to the recalled product to date.

Retailers are asked to cease distribution and sale of remaining Howling Cow Butter Almond Pints immediately, and consumers are urged to dispose or return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.

In similar recalls, Norcross, Georgia -based Nutracap Holdings, LLC in November called back various dietary supplements due to undeclared wheat, milk, soy and/or coconut.

Los Angeles, California- based Chocolate and the Chip in October recalled various bakery products for undeclared wheat, milk, soy, and tree nuts.
