Five Italians drugged and gangraped holidaying Brit mum, 50, then shared video on ‘Dirty Habits’ WhatsApp group – The Sun
FIVE Italian men drugged and gangraped a British mum while she was on holiday, before sharing the video to a "Dirty Habits" WhatsApp group.
The mum-of-one, 50, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was targeted on the last day of a holiday in Sorrento, Naples, she had taken with her daughter following the death of her husband.
A prosecutor has now demanded nine year jail sentences for the five men.
Antonio Barba urged the men be "made an example of" for the alleged brutal attack which happened after she was drugged.
Mr Barba told the court in Sorrento the men videoed the attack and then shared it on a vile WhatsApp chat called "Dirty Habits".
He added: "There is evidence this group sex attack was carried out with the use of drugs."
DNA from two men was found her fingernails and matching two of the accused Antonino Miniero and Francesco Ciro D'Antonio.
In a statement to the court the woman said she felt as if she was "having an out of body experience" during the assault.
Harrowing testimony from the woman’s daughter relived how her mum was drugged and targeted by the hotel employees.
The pair, who live in Kent, were on the last day of their holiday in October 2016 when the alleged attack took place in a resort popular with Brits.
DRUGGED AND RAPED
The court heard the gang of workers were caught by cops after sharing sick videos of the attack on a Whats App group.
All five men are either employees or ex employees at the hotel in Sorrento, a seaside resort popular with Brits.
The woman was on holiday with her daughter to get over the recent death of her husband and was so shocked she didn’t tell cops what happened until she returned home.
Prosecutors say the victim was taken to a store cupboard close to the swimming pool where she was raped several times by the men before stumbling back to her room at the Hotel Alimuri.
The woman reported the attack to cops in Kent when she returned and DNA samples and drug tests were sent to Italian investigators.
They revealed a high level of date rape drug GHB but lawyers for the five defendants claim the victim was on tranquillisers following the death of her husband.
SERVED SPIKED DRINKS
The ordeal reportedly began when the woman and her daughter were served spiked drinks by two barmen at the hotel.
Both are said to have been given a drug but they “focused their attention on the older woman”.
During her terrifying ordeal she was taken to a side room by the hotel swimming pool and raped twice before being handed over to the barmens’ colleagues.
She endured further attacks in a staff room and she was said to have been photographed during the attack with the pictures being later shared in the Whatsapp group.
Once her nightmare was over she was taken back to her room and dumped before she returned to Britain the next day and reported what happened.
The men were traced by Italian cops after work records were seized as well as mobile telephones which contained the pictures of the woman on the group chat.
The victim's own mobile phone also proved vital to the investigation as it contained pictures of two men who were identified by their tattoos.
A police spokesman said: “This was a terrible attack on a woman who was a visitor but we have been able to catch those responsible through good collaborative detective work.”
Antonio Miniero, Gennaro Davide Gargiulo, Raffaele Regio, Francesco Ciro D’Antonio, Fabio De Virgilio, Catello Graziuso, Vincenzo and Francesco Guida all deny rape and claim the drug test results are flawed.
The trial continues.
